I am putting away the cloak of Winter

To eagerly embrace the green of Spring.

I pray for the soft pattering sounds

Of raindrops falling on my window panes.

I wait on the porch for the sweet smell

Of spring rain that will clear away the

Signs of hardships winter has brought.

The Saucer Magnolia Tree by my front step

Is filled with different hues of pink blossoms

And heavenly scents that fill up my senses,

And beauty causes my soul to come undone.

I am reminded by God that the winters of  

Dark despair will soon be replaced by the

New growth that comes with falling tears.

Tears that can wipe away the pain

That comes from a life-time of loss.
