"You Never Can Tell.", acts, and thoughts have consequences., Pinterest photo- Helping hand., Poetry from Ella Wheeler Wilcox., Quote by Yu/stan/kema., words

You never can tell when you send a word

Like an arrow shot from a bow

By an archer blind, be it cruel or kind,

Just where it may chance to go

It may pierce the breast of your dearest friend,

Tipped with its poison or balm,

To a stranger’s heart in life’s great mart

It may carry its pain or its calm.

Found on Pinterest on 2-9-16. Helping hands.

You never can tell when you do an act

Just what the result will be,

But with every deed you are sowing a seed,

Though the harvest you may not see.

Each kindly act is an acorn dropped

   In God’s productive soul;

You may not know, but the tree shall grow

With shelter for those who toil.

You never can tell what your thoughts will do

In bringing you hate or love,

For thoughts are things, and their airy wings

   Are swifter than carrier doves.

They follow the law of the universe,

Each thing must create its kind,

And they speed o’er the track to bring you back

Whatever went out from your mind.

ELLA WHEELER WILCOX-

” It is appropriate to share the above poem in these difficult times. The words we speak can uplift people or tear them down. The acts we commit can unite or divide us.   The thoughts we have can make us bitter or hateful, or encourage us to be kind to  others. We need to think before we act or speak. We also need to sow more acts of   kindness.”         –Yu/stan/kema-

A Baby Is A Beautiful Gift.

A Baby, A beautiful thing, gratitude, Joy, laughter, Pinterest photo- M. Bezjian., Poetry by Yu/stan/kema., smell, soul with wings, words, Yours to keep.

The world is full

Of beautiful things:

A baby’s sweet laughter,

A soul that grows wings;

Found on Pinterest on 6-18-16. M. Bezjian.

A baby’s first word

And the emotion you feel,

When she says the word “Mama,

And love becomes real;

The smell of her hair

When your cheek lies against it;

The touch of her skin,

When you caress  her a bit;

Her scent when she’s clean,

And you rock her to sleep,

And the joy that comes

When gratitude runs deep.

You know there is nothing

On earth that can beat,

The feeling: ” this baby

Is yours to keep.”

Love is more than saying a word

And more than giving quick hugs.

It’s taking the time to help lift

The burdens others lug.

Love is taking time for patience,

Found on Pinterest on 5-15-17. Coral Honeysuckle. Saved from Indulgy.com

When you want to yell and shout.

It is keeping your voice calm,

when you are full of doubt.

Love is standing by others,

Through the difficult years;

Giving support when needed,

And wiping away the tears.

Love is trying to listen,

When you want to give advice.

It’s thinking of others, not-self,

Being willing to sacrifice,

For others who need your care,

And need a helping hand.

It’s giving another respect,

And showing you understand.

It’s taking time for yourself

To renew the soul within;

Being kind when you make mistakes;

And becoming your best friend.

Love takes work and commitment,

And the desire to forgive.

It’s being there when you’re needed,

Giving others the courage to live.

Living in a world

Without charity or hope,

Is like clinging to a cliff

Without pulleys or a rope.

Giving without thought,

Or emotion is an act,

That seems luke-warm.

There is something it lacks.

Being a good friend

Is more than saying, “I will.”

It involves a commitment

That you work hard to fill.

Saying, “I’m a Christian,”

Involves more than a name.

It means taking care of others

And treating everyone the same.

Implying the old and sick

Seek to bleed us dry,

Is making a judgement

Without asking why?

Talking about the poor

As if they are cursed,

Is only showing God,

We think we should be “first.”

Through out the world’s history,

It has always been true:

When we stop helping others,

Our culture dies too.

This should make us all pause

And look before we leap,

For we may end up drowning

In an ocean that is deep.

The Power Of Words And Meanings.

God communicates with words., Meanings and definitions., Meanings., Pinterest photo quote-Ursula K. Le Guin., rethinkpress.com., They have power., wordpress.com., words, Words can influence others., Written by Yu/stan/kema.

The world around us is constantly changing. The way we process information and store information is in a state of flux. Even the way we interact and communicate with each other may be different day by day. We may interact through art, poetry, articles, internet, twitter, e-mail, phone messages, cell phones, texting, and so forth.

Words are often used by us to get a thought out in to the open for discussion. We quote poetry when we want to invoke a special meaning and feeling. We text when we are in a hurry. When words have importance, we prefer to say them face to face, looking into another’s eyes. Pure joy can start us singing the words we want to say. Words guide us, inspire us, and they help us organize our lives in such a way so that others can give us what we need.

When I was a child, a man’s word was his bond. It told others that he was trust worthy and reliable, and he would do what he promised to do. Words had meanings that made it clear to others what the words represented. Facts were seen as the truth, and  there was no second guessing, no “alternative facts” to manipulate or hide the truth.

Facts and truth are reliable. They give us a foundation to build upon. Truth gives us a sense of security, a knowing in our gut, a certainty in our heart, and a guide for our soul. Words help us define “what is.” They can travel through time and help us understand what love and friendship is. Words can hurt and destroy others when used unwisely, with ignorance, and disrespect. Words can also transform us as human beings.

God used words to communicate with His people, and these words have survived the ravages of time. The most powerful words God used was to describe Himself as: “The Great I Am.” For years, I struggled with the meaning of these words. When I was able to communicate more intimately within myself, and I was able to define myself as “who I am,”  I could see more clearly the meaning of the “Great I Am.”

To me, God was saying, “I exist. I matter.” ” I am a fact of the universe.”        ” What you see me do is who I am.” ” What I say is who I Am.” “I stand for something.” “I Am forever.”

It is important for each of us to remember that what we say and do, has power to influence others.  Words do matter. They help us define who we really are, and they validate our existence.

Breakthrough

I read your poetry today

Words expressing feelings,

Feelings that really

Have no words.

Found on www.itsalovelylife.com on 12-28-14.

Found on http://www.itsalovelylife.com on 12-28-14.

And I wept

Because

I know

Those feelings well

And some how

You made me see

You are no God

Of stone,

But just like me:

Filled with hunger,

Warmed by love,

Touched by pain,

Hurt by need.

Tears fall

While reading

Your words

And I feel

I am one

with you,

Touched by you,

Warmed by you,

Filled with

Something close

Akin to love.

Love that comes

From knowing

Who you really are:

Not a role,

Not a mask,

But feelings.

Feelings that

Really have

No words.

GOD’s LOVE

Somebody Touched me and made me feel

That the love of Jesus in her was real.

Somebody said the words that sent

Food for my soul’s impoverishment.

Somebody gave me the gift of herself

And showed me the source of her glorious wealth.

Actions spoke louder than words to say

The gift of God’s love had come my way.
