Becoming mindful at the water's edge., Facebook Timeline photo- Johanna Hurand, Google+ photo-Seka Czarnowski., grass, poetry by Yu/stan/kema, Sky, Water
When I am pensive, I return
To the place where peace lies,
On water that flows from one
End of a sparkling lake to the other.
The water starts with a ripple and soon
Cascades into a rhythmic dance of
Concentric circles that move out
From the center of the lake to
Become gentle waves pushed by
The energy of an Autumn wind.
I am mesmerized by the pattern
In the water and sit spell-bound,
While thousands of fire flies, lit by
The sun’s rays, kiss the lake’s surface.
The rising wind sets in motion
Long, slender stems of fall grasses.
They dance with every puff of air that
Touches their golden heads.
They sway in time with each breath I take,
Until I am one with the water, grass, and sky.
