Love is like the soft touch
Of a gentle rain.
It soothes the hurting soul
And removes the pain.

Love is like the sweet sound
Of a baby's laugh.
It stays when losses come
And cuts sorrow in half.

Love is like a small stream
That helps flowers grow.
It keeps the soul alive
When the cold wind blows.

Love is like an oak tree
Whose roots go deep.
Its' strength keeps it standing
Even when it weeps.

Love goes on forever
When the heart is fed
On a regular basis as
Faith raises its head.

The Power Of Prayer

Drought, Poetry by Yu/stan/kema., Prayer to God., rain

It took a long time for the rain to come.
The effects of the drought were burdensome.
Tree branches died from the lack of rain
Trees, not surviving, brought us pain.

We waited for months for the rain to arrive.
We prayed to God: "Help the trees survive."
We heard thunder, and saw clouds overhead.
We knew God had heard the words we had said.

We laughed as the rain fell down on our face.
The sound of raindrops, we could not erase.
God brought us the rain because He cares,
And He taught us about the power of prayer.

Every day we are here?”

“God let’s us know He’s faithful.

Though invisible, He’s  near.”

“Mama, Why does the rain fall

And where does it go?”

“God waters the flowers, trees, and grass

Because He loves them so.”

“Will you always love me, Mama,

No matter what I do?”

“Always my child, forever and ever,

Just as God loves us too.”

The rain falls gently

On the grasses and trees.

The blazing days of summer

Can bring you to your knees.

The wheat grows tall

And the corn taller still.

In the state of Kansas,

You can hear the whippoorwill.

The sun paints the sky

With shades of pink and yellow.

Cows lie down beside

Wild flowers in the meadow.

Night comes slowly

With the dying of the light.

Peace comes quickly

As the stars shine bright.

Sounds of the insects

Can cause your eyes to close.

God laughs softly

When you start to doze.

Autumn comes on tip-toe this year

In the waning days of October.

The cold wind blows into Kansas,

And animals grow more fur.

Found on Google+ on 11-6-15. 1monique-breva.

The air smells crisp and clean,

And when the rain comes,

It falls gently on

The yellow chrysanthemums.

The rain holds wonderful scents

That reflect the treasures  of earth.

Yellow, orange, and red leaves dance

While children laugh with mirth.

Trees catch the last rays of the sun,

And leaves fall to the ground.

Death touches all living things

And leaves without a sound.
