Shine the light that lies within you

Found on Pinterest on 10-24-16. Thich Nhat Hanh.

Given by a loving God.

Let its rays do the healing.

Let love be a lightning rod.

Let light overcome the darkness.

Let hope grow in every soul.

Let peace come to war-torn travelers,

For God’s grace shall make them whole.

There will be tribulations.

Loss will knock you to the ground.

You must rise to meet the challenge.

Soon, we’ll all be heaven-bound.

Be a part of building bridges.

Reach your hand to one another.

Put your differences aside,

And acknowledge he’s your brother.

Shine God’s light. Shine your light

Even in the darkest night.

Always try to do what’s right.

God’s protection is in sight.

Never give up on being hopeful,

For the soul needs hope to survive.

It’s what keeps you ever moving

When you are treading to stay alive.

Never give up on loving another,

Even when love is not returned.

Love takes time to enter the heart

Of a life that’s been horribly ruined.

Never give up believing in God,

When He seems so far away.

It’s when you need Him the most,

You must take time to pray.

Never give up  on finding peace.

You’ll find it waiting inside.

It comes when you reach acceptance

And let go of your foolish pride.

The things of this world distract us

From reaching our highest goals.

We’ll find in silence and nature

A way to nurture our souls.

When a soul is nurtured and peaceful,

It is filled with an endless love;

And it seeks to connect those in need

With a merciful God above.

PEACE

” Every one of us yearns for peace in living, in some form or another. A baby finds it in the arms of his caring mother as she rocks him to sleep. A child finds it playing outside in the dappled sunlight as he watches the insects, smells the fresh clean air, and hears the sounds of birds singing and chirping in a quiet meadow or forest.

A mother finds peace as she watches her child fall asleep in a house filled with kindness and love. A man finds peace in fishing as he watches the water and the sky while casting for trout. And an old woman finds peace in knowing she has loved well the people she has cared for and has raised children who do acts of kindness for those who are most vulnerable.

Peace is something we all need, to balance out the times we encounter stress, and the times we carry losses that overwhelm us. Some people find peace in their relationship with God, their loved ones, the things they create, or in nature. This is expressed so eloquently in the following poem by Edgar Daniel Kramer.”     Yu/stan/kema.

I HAVE FOUND PEACE

I have found peace where the rippling waters

Ever whisper the willow boughs;

There I have knelt to an unseen altar.

An unseen temple has heard my vows.

Found on Pinterest on 12-17-16. Stephen Hayward. Stars

I have lifted my heart to the heart of beauty

And I have given my soul to her,

As I have hearkened the rippling waters,

Where the willow leaves and the grasses stir.

Though I was blind, now my eyes are seeing…

The mystic wonders that never cease;

The dawn in the trees, the dusk on the flowers,

The dust of the stars, and I have found peace.

Lord of Darkness, Lord of Light,

Both exist in the night.

You must choose which one is right

And hold it close, hold it tight.

Found on Pinterest on 4-27-16. Pixidaus.com.

There is evil all around,

And it can easily be found.

It can come without a sound,

And you’ll find, you are bound

By acts that will not set you free

As hatred grows inside of thee.

The devil brings you to your knees,

And war becomes your destiny.

You must choose which way to go.

Know God’s love around you flows.

Goodness will help you grow

Found on Pinterest on 9-27-15. A.D. Williams. Higher Perspective.

And take away your years of woe.

Kindness will be your guide

And help erase selfish pride.

Love will heal the hurt inside,

So peace can enter and abide.

A Christian, a safe place., acceptance, Good things in life, nourishment., One who stays, peace, Poetry by Yu/stan/kema., Wholeness, wipes away tears

There is little in this world

That can touch the soul,

Like someone accepting us

And making us feel whole.

There is no place on earth

Where we would rather be,

Then with one who walks with us

On the road to Calvary.

It is rare to find someone,

Who shares our hopes and fears,

and offers to stay with us and

wipes away our tears.

For deep inside our heart,

We treasure a safe place,

Where we can go for nourishment,

And peace we can’t erase.

Peace comes to me in the morning

And alights soft as an angel’s wing.

Joy fills my heart to overflowing

And compels my soul to sing.

Love flows through me to my family

And out to a hurting world.

Patience teaches me to wait

For God’s plan to be unfurled.

Faith grows as time goes on,

And I leave the world behind.

I learn how to be more caring

With Jesus inside my mind.

Hope rises within my soul

Despite the gloom and the darkness.

For I know all of us can reflect

The light of God’s great goodness.

Lay me down, beside the still water

Where the wild flowers grow,

And the rush of the wind

Bends the grass to and fro.

Turn my face towards the sun,

So its rays will keep me warm.

Build a shelter over me

To protect me from the storm.

Please, do not grieve for me

As I cross to the other side,

For there are trees and flowers,

And God’s arms are opened wide.

He will cradle and rock me

Until I’m strong again.

I will soon feel  peace

And joy growing within.

I am torn between

The urge to protect

What I love and respect,

And the need to find

Beauty and peace

While living in

A troubled world.

Things are not

As they seem.

In my mind,

I try to reconcile

What is duty,

With what has

Unfurled.

Is it a

Bad dream?

Have I forgot

What really is

Worth while?

Bogged down

By a world of sin,

I suddenly see

That real peace

Begins with me.

THE SUN TOUCHES ME

My fingers move to touch the light.

I  will not embrace the dark of night.

A  song starts singing in my soul

Where once despair took such a toll.

I dream new dreams to replace the old,

Nightmares that have now grown cold.

Your spirit fills me with peace.

I feel a sense of sweet release.

Your eyes watch my falling tears,

Hands heal  wounds from past years.

This simple gift of shared grief

Brings me such great relief.

Your warmth is like the summer sun.

Words soothe before the day is done.

You gather up the pieces of my soul.

Trust glues them back into a whole.

When despair for the world grows in me

And I wake in the night at the least sound

In fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,

I go and lie down where the wood drake

Rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.

Found on Google on 8-6-15. Great Blue Heron. Magnolia Gardens.DSC 0261.

I come into the peace of wild things

Who do not tax their lives with

Forethought of grief. I come into

Thy presence of still water And I

Feel above me the day-blind stars

Waiting with their light. For a time

I rest in the grace of the world,

And I am free.
