love, faith, Poetry by Yu/stan/kema., rain, Like, baby's laugh, small stream, oak tree

Love is like the soft touch
Of a gentle rain.
It soothes the hurting soul
And removes the pain.

Love is like the sweet sound
Of a baby's laugh.
It stays when losses come
And cuts sorrow in half.

Love is like a small stream
That helps flowers grow.
It keeps the soul alive
When the cold wind blows.

Love is like an oak tree
Whose roots go deep.
Its' strength keeps it standing
Even when it weeps.

Love goes on forever
When the heart is fed
On a regular basis as
Faith raises its head.

Brother, God, grief, letting go, loss, love, poetry by Yu/stan/kema, Ranching

I'm sorry that your brother died.
I know you carry tears inside.
You called him " Brother" all your life.
Your sorrow cuts you like a knife.

He sheltered you from every harm
And had a certain kind of charm.
You saw his flaws but loved him so,
And it is hard to let him go.

I'm sure he's trying to impress
God with his own worthiness.
He worked hard to build a ranch
And acquired a cowboy stance.

Now it's time to say good-bye.
He's ridden his horse across the sky.
He knows he'll see you again
And talk with you of now and then.

The Obstacle Of Fear

Love comes softly on angels' wings
And touches my shattered soul.
I am broken beyond repair
And grief has taken it's toll.

Where do I go when all is gone
And life has lost all meaning?
Is there a place to release my tears
And express the emotions I'm feeling?

The world can be such a lonely place
For a sensitive soul like mine.
How do you open yourself back up
To hurt and say, "I'm fine?"

The struggle to get up off the floor
Is strenuous year after year.
How do I try to find hope again
When I have such terrible fear?

horses, love, Pinterest photo, poetry by Yu/stan/kema, riding

Take me down to the Valley of Thunder
Where the horses run free and wild.
My heart will soar with absolute joy
As it did when I was a child.

They will lift their heads and smell the air
Like they did so long ago.
We'll ride on the backs of horses we love
And we'll race to the river below.

The earth will shake from the horses hooves,
And our hair will fly in the wind.
We'll feel the strength of their muscles beneath
And we'll ride 'til the journey's end.

The feeling of wind, ourselves, and the horse,
Stays magical in our minds.
The memories we hold dear within
Will last for a very long time.

Scaned by Yu/stan/kema on 2-18-16. Personal photograph.

She’s a sweet little lady

And very protective of me.

Her eyes are no longer sharp,

And she can barely see.

She’s aware of all I do,

For her ears are turned my way.

They track my every movement.

She listens to what I say.

She loves to lay beside me

At night when darkness falls.

We both treasure the silence,

Before the night-owl calls.

My Sheltie soon grows weary.

Her breathing becomes deep.

I sing her sweet lullabies

As she gently goes to sleep.

When her soul enters heaven,

And she leaves this earth behind,

I hope that she’ll remember

I loved her and was kind.

Kindness matters, love, Poetry by Yu/stan/kema., Strength comes with love

The world is such a lonely place

When you’re feeling “upside down.”

No one stops to talk to you

If you wear a frown.

They see you as invisible,

Not even worth their while.

They turn their faces away,

When you try to smile.

They do not know the grief inside

You try so hard to carry,

Nor do they comprehend the pain

From losses that tarry.

It’s difficult to see at first

The strength that love can give

To broken-hearted souls that need

Great courage to live.

It takes a single moment

To bestow an act of kindness,

Yet, what others say and do

Often becomes timeless.

Shine the light that lies within you

Found on Pinterest on 10-24-16. Thich Nhat Hanh.

Given by a loving God.

Let its rays do the healing.

Let love be a lightning rod.

Let light overcome the darkness.

Let hope grow in every soul.

Let peace come to war-torn travelers,

For God’s grace shall make them whole.

There will be tribulations.

Loss will knock you to the ground.

You must rise to meet the challenge.

Soon, we’ll all be heaven-bound.

Be a part of building bridges.

Reach your hand to one another.

Put your differences aside,

And acknowledge he’s your brother.

Shine God’s light. Shine your light

Even in the darkest night.

Always try to do what’s right.

God’s protection is in sight.

Never give up on being hopeful,

For the soul needs hope to survive.

It’s what keeps you ever moving

When you are treading to stay alive.

Never give up on loving another,

Even when love is not returned.

Love takes time to enter the heart

Of a life that’s been horribly ruined.

Never give up believing in God,

When He seems so far away.

It’s when you need Him the most,

You must take time to pray.

Never give up  on finding peace.

You’ll find it waiting inside.

It comes when you reach acceptance

Found on Facebook Timeline on 7-24-17. Country and Farm Photography. Taken by Carolyn Anderson.

And let go of your foolish pride.

The things of this world distract us

From reaching our highest goals.

We’ll find in silence and nature

A way to nurture our souls.

When a soul is nurtured and peaceful,

It is filled with an endless love;

And it seeks to connect those in need

With a merciful God above.

Eternal Life., Facebook timeline photo- from Mindfulness., Helping others., lifes purpose, love, Poetry by Yu/stan/kema.

All the light we cannot see,

The measure of eternity

Lie behind heaven’s gate

And like most, we must wait.

Found on Mindfulness and Facebook time line.

There is work to be done

Before the setting of the sun.

We must find our purpose here

And lose the things we hold most dear.

Christ appeared to set us free,

But paid the cost at Calvary.

He did not have a painless life.

He dealt with so much endless strife.

He persevered despite the jeers,

Fulfilled His purpose through the years,

Gave us life forever more,

And gave us wings so we could soar.

We have gifts from God to give

that can improve the will to live

Of weary souls who’ve had enough

And find it hard to still be tough.

We need to remember well

God’s message we must always tell:

Love is our purpose here on earth

And life eternal through Christ’s birth.

The Bird Who Could Not Sing.

birds, companions, courage, family, Finding his song, God notices., grief, inability to sing, leaving his nest, love, Pinterest photo- quote by Kahlil Gibran. Every Day Spirit., Poetry from Yu/stan/kema, songs

There once was a bird

who had no song.

He would try to sing,

but it felt all wrong.

His heart was broken.

His mother had died.

He felt so lost and

empty inside.

Photo-Found on Pinterest. Quote: Kahlil Gibran. Every Day Spirit.

He thought he would

never sing a tune.

So he tried his best

to bay at the moon.

But it felt all wrong,

and he fell asleep.

When the morning came,

he could only weep.

He refused to sit

in his nest all day.

So he chirped with birds

along the way.

They introduced him

to friends.

He finally felt that

he could mend.

On one of his flights,

He met a brown bird,

and he fell in love

with just a word.

They built a nest

and lined it with care.

Soon, little birds

chirped everywhere.

The bird who thought

he could not sing,

lifted his feathers

and took wing.

He sang, ” Cheer,cheer, “

with such great love,

That God sent him praise

from the heavens above.
