I go to my garden refuge

Found on Pinterest on 5-15-17. Coral Honeysuckle. Saved from Indulgy.com

When I need a healing salve

To cover the wounds inside me

From old losses that I have.

I smell the sweet honeysuckle

That grows on the back yard fence,

And the flowers that bloom in summer

Keep me in a state of suspense.

Many colors of Iris stand tall

In the rays of the morning sun.

The birds wake up to sing a tune

And stop when the day is done.

My soul needs its’ quota of beauty

To thrive in a world of despair.

It brings me close to the Almighty

Whose gifts can be seen everywhere.

God knew I would need reminding

That He is present every day,

So He sent gifts of beauty-

Lovely flowers to grace my way.

The breeze is cool

against my skin

and is filled with

the smells of summer.

Flowers dance in the wind

while the sun kisses my face

like some long-forgotten love

from my adolescence.

Veronique-coutie.

Trees lift their branches

toward heaven and drink in

the golden rays of the sun.

Butterflies flit from

flower to flower

while sipping sweet nectar.

The smell  of honeysuckle,

 on the backyard fence,

floats on the air currents

and enters my nose.

Sweet memories are reawakened:

Tart lemonade sliding down

the throat  in one tasty gulp;

Red ripe watermelon

chilled to perfection;

The sound of whippoorwills calling

out near dusk;

The laughter of children playing

Hide and Seek at night;

and the gentle guitar strings

kissing the darkness

with love songs.

There is truly nothing like,

Indiana in the summertime.

When I was just a girl of eight,

I stretched out flat upon the ground,

And on my back I saw the world

With a blue sky, heard natural sounds.

Found on Pinterest on 7-17-15. Days of grace-cherie.

I felt my soul fly out of me

And land on top a soft white cloud.

I embraced the universe

And heard an angel laugh out loud.

All around me Beauty breathed

And blew sweet hope into my chest.

She wrapped me in serenity,

And gave me a much-needed rest.

The scent of sweet tender leaves

Moved gently through the tall oak trees.

Found on Pinterest on 6-13-16.

The smell of Honeysuckle blooms

Drifted across the morning breeze.

I saw one-hundred flowers dance

And lift their faces to the sun.

They smiled and bowed their heads in prayer

And gave thanks to the Holy One.

In me there grew such ecstasy.

It blew the storms of life aside.

It gave me respite for a day

And brought back hope that had died.

Yu/stan/kema-
