Grief comes like a quiet thief

In the middle of the night.

It shakes and rattles the soul

And removes all that is bright.

 

Grief brings forth mighty rage

And takes away happiness.

It leads a soul to hell

To doubt God’s righteousness.

 

Grief causes a loss of reason

And brings the mind to its knees.

It often destroys trust

And causes hope to cease.

 

Yet, grief can cause the heart

To turn and reach for love.

It can bring the soul to ask

For God’s help from above.

 

Grief can bring forth change

In the life filled with despair.

It can cause a heart to give,

Help others, and show it cares.

 

It can cause a man to throw

His selfish pride to the ground,

And admit he can’t do it himself

Without God coming around.

 

Grief can bring heaven or hell

Into the life of a man.

It’s really up to him

To do whatever he can.

Good night, good night, my sweet child,

God’s angels will protect you.

May you greet the morning light,

With flowers kissed with dew.

Lift up your rested head, my child,

While birds sing songs of gladness.

God brings lovely things your way

To take away your sadness.

 

Though life can have stormy skies,

It also has bright sunshine

To light up your darkest days.

So, leave your troubles behind.

 

Love will come to you, my child,

When you least expect it.

Just keep a receptive heart

To house the Holy Spirit.

 

For someday soon, God will come

And take you home with Him.

You will fly through sapphire skies,

Hear songs from the Seraphim.

Take time to build a bridge to heaven

So when the world get’s heavy to bear,

Your soul can reach out to Jesus

Who’ll receive your burdens to share.

 

Some burdens are much too heavy,

For one person to carry for sure.

Life is often filled with losses,

Too numerous for you to endure.

 

Don’t be unkind and feel you are weak,

Just because you reach out your hand.

There are days we need somebody

And someone who understands.

 

It’s part of you being human,                        

While living in a world full of pain.

Learn to give your burden to Jesus.

His love is always the same.

She loved to allow the music

To flow inside her soul.

The notes would cause her spirit

To dance and she’d feel whole.

She knew if she became

The embodiment of a note,

It would warm her in the winter,

And cover her like a coat.

The melody of a song would

Cause her soul to take flight

And wing her toward heaven

To stand in God’s sight.

She would sing in His choir of angels,

A rare and heavenly song

And hold in her heart forever

Music was a way she could talk

And love God in a special way.

She came to see that music

Was a different way to pray.

The day before April

Alone, alone,

I walked in the woods

And I sat on a stone.

 

I sat on a broad stone

And sang to the birds.

The tune was God’s making

But I made the words.

GOING HOME

I’m going “Home,” to see my Father.

I have missed the comfort of

Being in His holy presence

And feeling His great love.

His light is warm and tender,

His eyes are a sky blue.

His face is like sunlight

Sparkling in the dew.

He smells like the sweet clover

Found in the month of May.

His voice can sound like thunder,

Or like a child at play.

His hands are strong and tender.

He wipes away my tears.

He heals my broken spirit

And removes all my fears.

He wraps His love around me

Like a warm summer day.

I feel the cold inside me

Begin to melt away.

“Home” is very different

From the days I lived on earth.

I seldom felt special

Since the day of my birth.

Words were seldom spoken

To give me encouragement,

When I started missing

All that God has meant.

I’m  unfastening the ties

That bind me to the earth

So I can soar the star-lit skies.

I have lost the will to be here.

I am going “Home” to God.

I will touch and smell each flower

On the hills where He has trod.

I will lay my body down

Beside a sparkling stream.

I will lose myself in music

And allow my soul to dream,

Of good things and bright things

And teach my soul to sing.

I will kneel before My Father

And reclaim my Eagle’s wings.

We will fly over mountains.

We will soar the endless skies,

And I will see eternity

As I walk a   winding road

That leads to heaven’s gate,

Sunlight sits upon my shoulder,

Warms me as I wait.

Soon, the nights  grow colder.

Friends have died along the way.

Family ties have

unraveled,

No one ever

seems to stay.

Many are the miles

I’ve traveled,

And my spirit

grows  meek.

Faith has brought

me to a river

As my body

becomes  weak.

Here I shed my

 hurts and losses

That have

devastated me.

 

We all carry

 crosses,

That cause 

us misery.

We want to

break away

In an effort

To be free.

We seek the

peaceful places

To prepare

for a new birth,

And leave behind

this planet

Others call earth,

To stand before

God’s graces.

 

I’m in the process

Of leaving

All my sorrows

behind,

And memories

I’ve carried

In the corners

of my mind.

For it’s been

too long,

I’ve tarried.

Hello, old friend, I thought of you just the other day.

I thought about the walks we took. How we loved to play.

We had  much respect and love for values we both shared.

A hug or pat upon the back, showed me that you cared.

You’d laugh with me and weep with me, accept every feeling

That my body would express and I would feel the healing

Of your love and gentleness when living hurt so bad.

When you had to leave one day, I Never felt so sad.

How  can I show gratitude for all the time you took.

You made me want to reach the stars with just one look.

Save a place for me,old friend, when you get to heaven.

We’ll run through green fields again like we did age seven.

I’ll lay a flower on your grave and say a little prayer

That you’ll reserve a hug for me when I get up there.

Life is heaven

When somebody shares

His sorrows and secrets, 

His ambitions and cares.

 

Just two arms to hold us

And a smile to cheer;

Two lips to kiss us

Every night of the year.

 

Two hands to touch us

And two eyes to smile,

A voice that gets husky

And life is worth while.

 

One laugh to thrill us 

And a heart to endure

 The pain of heart-break

And be as mature

 

As one mind can be

Toward all that we meet,

To tell us to grow up

And still be as sweet

 

As when we are doing

All that we can

To honor all people

And take a firm stand.

 

One hand to lift us

And help us be great,

To search through our soul

And correct a mistake.

 

Two minds to think with,

And share every thought

And all the deep sorrows

That living has brought.

 

One soul to grow with

And worship our God,

To study His word

Without seeming odd.

 

Just one voice to answer

All the questions that come

And hear our solutions

And not think us dumb.

 

Just one soul to honor 

And some one who shares.

Life is heaven

When somebody cares.

   I have always loved the 23rd Psalm since childhood. It gives me a comforting feeling that the Lord will take care of me and make sure I am always protected by Him and that He will restore my soul.. Even in hard times, this Psalm still comforts me. It also signifies for me what heaven must look like. The picture below says it.         Yu/stan/kema.
