HEALING WATERS

When your life begins to flood

And you don’t know what to do,

Lean back into the ocean

And float your way through.

When burdens seem heavy,

It’s time to Leave the shore!

The soul cries out inside you,

There must be something more.

Surrender to the current,

 And just let go.

Float away across the ocean,

Toss your troubles in the sea;

Just feel this holy water,

The sun, the sky, and thee.

These waters will support you.

Fall back and  just breathe.

For you possess already,

 All you truly need.

For the soul that has surrendered,

Is the soul that lives free.

Disengage the critical mindset,

That says you haven’t tried.

 Go find your quiet place

And throw your arms wide.

 Breathe in the air around you;

Let your fear subside.

 Believe in your own value,

More than the sun and sky.

Soon you will see,

“You” can finally just ” be.”

Laugh, cry, and scream,

It feels good to be free!

I grew up choosing Red

As my favorite color.

Found on Pinterest on 3-13-16. Cardinal.

Found on Pinterest on 3-13-16. Cardinal.

It was vibrant and stimulating,

Never boring, or blase.

Red meant power,

And someone’s love

On St. Valentine’s Day.

Until the morning

I remembered red

As my mother’s blood

On the kitchen floor;

My blood in a grocery store;

Blood on a bullet in

Someone’s bed..

Don’t get me wrong.

I still love red

In a flowering rose,

On a cardinal’s head.

And a little bow found

On Christmas clothes,

And the red of a reindeer’s nose.

But I’ve found peace

With the color blue

In the eyes of one

Whose love is true.

There’s sweet release

LOVE FOR THE SEA.

I hear the slapping of the rising sea

Along the jagged sea-shore,

The roar of the surf at day’s end.

The moon’s gravity pulls the water and

Seeks to control the power of the tide.

I imagine wading into the riptide,

Feeling the water tear at my body,

Knowing I tight-rope a fine line

Between life and death in the current

While my fate hangs in the balance.

My love of the infinite sea,

Has blinded me to its many perils.

I wait with eager anticipation

For the incoming tide.

Moonlight stimulates my senses.

The salt water of the tide touches me

And kisses my face in the sea’s mist.

My arms embrace the sea like a lover,

And my body is rocked in the

Coming and the going of  the water.

Those who love the immensity of the sea

Understand the power of the tide

That  pulls the sailor’s heartstrings to return

To the open water, sun, and sky,

To become one with God who created it all.

A Wise Old Owl

A wise old owl sat on an oak.

The more he saw the less he spoke;

The less he spoke the more he heard;

Why aren’t we like that wise old bird?

GONE

About the little chambers of my heart

Friends have been coming-going- many a year.

The doors stand open there.

Some, lightly stepping, enter; some depart.

Freely they come and freely go, at will.

The walls give back their laughter, all day long.

They fill the house with song.

One door alone is shut, one chamber still.

That you hold;

Yet I am so afraid

That you will not see

That I am vulnerable

To you.

Perhaps, it is the same with God.

He holds “ME” in His hands

And has the power to do

With me as he sees fit;

Yet I am so afraid that

God will not see

That I am vulnerable

Fields Of Wheat

Down in the ripening fields of wheat,

The heads sway in a brisk wind,

All different hues of the color brown,

A riot of color without end.

I am small beside the golden wheat.

The sun shines on my thoughtful face.

I am one with the waving  grain.

The sun goes down, with God’s grace.

I hold this  in the halls of memory:

The wondrous image of a golden sea

That could be seen for miles away.

I only know the wheat danced for me.

Special People In Our Lives Are A Gift From God.

Article and poetry by Yu/stan/kema., George Fletcher-photo., God's gifts to us., Google+ photo., pinterest picture quote, Special people in our lives.

In our lives, we meet people who are special to us. These are the ones who take the time to know us, listen to us, and give of themselves in invaluable ways to help us. They let us know they enjoy us. These special people bring us to a new level of growth spiritually and emotionally. They teach us very valuable lessons in life. They seek our good.

When we are around them, we feel the warmth of their caring, their acceptance of all we are. They have integrity and they tell us the truth, even when we’d rather not hear it. Their words and their presence calms us. and we find ourselves compelled to be our  best. Most of all, we feel a spiritual connection with them. We are lucky if we find three in our life time. They commit time, attention, and caring to us willingly, joyfully. We remember these people until the day we die and we know without a shadow of a doubt they will remember us. They are gifts from God, more precious and valuable than anything on earth. They make us feel cherished, and that makes all the difference in how we live and what we become. The following poem was written for these special people.

SPECIAL PEOPLE

Special people come into our lives

Found on Pinterest on 1-1-16.

Found on Pinterest on 1-1-16.

And produce in us thoughts and feelings

That enable us to become strong,

And we feel a sense of healing.

They take us places inside ourselves

And help our souls to grow.

They give us a different perspective

On what we think we know.

They teach us lessons to learn,

And make us believe we can do it.

They make us feel accepted inside

And they help us be congruent.

They enable us to see our flaws

And face our deepest fears.

They inspire us to do the hard work,

Give comfort when we have tears.

They enable us to touch our pain

And feel like we’re okay.

They stay in the center of our heart

Even when they are far away.

Later in life in looking back,

We come to realize,

They were God’s greatest gifts to us,

His wondrous love in disguise.

BROKEN DREAMS BREAK THE HEART

Broken dreams shatter the soul

And leave barren ground where nothing grows.

All that the heart hopes for is gone.

An empty shell remains where the wind blows.

THE DAY BEFORE APRIL

The day before April

Alone, alone,

I walked in the woods

And I sat on a stone.

I sat on a broad stone

And sang to the birds.

The tune was God’s making

But I made the words.

Measure Me Sky

Measure me, sky!

Tell me I reach by a song

Nearer the stars;

I have been little so long.

Weigh me, high wind!

What will your wild scales      record?

Profit of pain,

Joy by the weight of a word.

Heaven, reach out!

Catch at my hands, stretch me taunt.

Rim of the world:

Widen my eyes by a thought.

Sky, be my depth.

Wind, be my width and my height,

World, my heart’s span;

Loveliness, wings for my flight.

LEONORA  SPEYER.
