When your heart is feeling anxious

And the world is spinning round,

When your legs keep on shaking

And your lips can’t make a sound,

 

Stop, whatever you are doing,

Sing a little song of joy.

Give thanks to God, The Father,

For the blessings of your boy.

 

When you feel like evil’s winning

And there’s nothing you can do,

Sing a song for the warrior

Who lives inside of you.

 

When you see that souls are hurting                         

And there’s nothing left to say,

Raise your voice and sing of comfort.

Hold them close for just a day.

 

Sing of beauty all around you:

How God paints the bluest sky

With the colors of the rainbow

When night is drawing nigh.

 

Sing a song of joy and laughter.

Sing of blessings from above

And spiritual connections

That reflect God’s greatest love.

Lord of Darkness, Lord of Light,

Both exist in the night.

You must choose which one is right

And hold it close, hold it tight.

There is evil all around,

And it can easily be found.

It can come without a sound,

And you’ll find, you are bound

 

By acts that will not set you free

As hatred grows inside of thee.

The devil brings you to your knees,

And war becomes your destiny.

 

You must choose which way to go.

Know God’s love around you flows.

Goodness will help you grow

When you have too much love,

And you have too much hope,

You can end up battered,

And find you can’t cope.

When evil is winning

And good’s tossed aside,

Your soul trembles

From tears left inside.

 

When you search for answers

That you cannot find,

Try looking in side you.

They lay in your mind.

 

You’ve fought a great battle

Over the years.

You have to accept how

To live with your tears.

 

You have a kind spirit,

You believe in the good.

Even when hurting,

You say a good word.

 

When you feel disappointed,

Your heart breaks in two.

The pain ends up taking

A big piece of you.

 

But Love can feel great,

And giving brings pleasure.

Yet, Love can bring sorrow,

And pain beyond measure.

Peace comes to me in the morning                                                            

And alights soft as an angel’s wing.

Joy fills my heart to overflowing

And compels my soul to sing.

Love flows through me to my family

And out to a hurting world.

Patience teaches me to wait

For God’s plan to be unfurled.

Faith grows as time goes on,

And I leave the world behind.

I learn how to be more caring

With Jesus inside my mind.

Hope rises within my soul

Despite the gloom and the darkness.

For I know all of us can reflect

The light of God’s great goodness.

The Sweet Gifts Of Gratitude

Praise God for the morning,

Bright with the rising sun; 

And all the trees around me,

Waiting for Spring to come.

 

Praise God for my simple house

That serves as a shelter,

To protect me from life’s storms

And acts as a filter.

 

Praise God for my loyal friends,

Who stay and support me;

They fill my life with joy,

And allow me to be free.
