Darkness falls in the black curtains of night.

Crickets, and locusts play a melody

Nocturnal creatures move to

in an effortless dance of life

And death under the moon’s light.

Creatures slither and crawl.

They leave  behind them

Little trace of their existence,

Hoping to catch something good

To help them survive it all.

Darkness envelopes the hush of night.

Loved ones gather to embrace each other

In a dance of tenderness and joy.

They seek some reassurance

That every thing will come out right.

They want more than a few hours

To leave behind bits and pieces

Of their authentic selves

And to share with each other

The  fruits of a balance in power.

MANY KINDS OF LOVE

Love is a burning in the soul.

It is the wild beating of the heart.

It is a hunger that never ends.

It is giving right from the start.

Love is a peace that lives within.

It knows it’s safe to just let go.

Love is giving as well as caring.

It’s being loved more than you know.

Love is committing to someone near.

It’s wanting the best for her in life.

It’s serving  her when the need exists

And setting limits to avoid the strife.

Love is allowing the other space.

It’s trusting her to do the right thing.

It’s helping her achieve and grow,

To find what makes her heart sing.

Love is many different things

To everyone who lives on earth.

Love is a need that never dies.

Love is trust that’s given birth.

Sweet Child of sorrow,

You reach out to touch

The desired  memory of

What you never got,

Still wanting  what

You can no longer have.

Time has erased

Pathways to the past.

The years make it

Impossible to touch

The heart of this

Unrequited need:

To be so loved

For the self inside,

And be cherished by

A dear Mother’s heart,

That prays strongly for

Her sweet child’s soul.
