Article and poetry by Yu/stan/kema., Lessons we learn., life, things we get.

We travel through this world

with hope and expectations,

and each of us grew up

with our own preconceptions.

Life happens to us all

and brings good things and bad.

We’ve had moments of laughter

and tears when we were sad.

We’ve learned from those with wisdom,

made mistakes when we’re alone,

and kept repeating messages

our parents had sown.

We reached out to each other

with intentions that were real.

We believed what they were saying,

and how it made us feel.

We looked forward to the future,

and we soothed each others woes.

We accepted imperfections and

we made it through the lows.

But people change much quicker

than we can really see,

and they seem to out-grow us

as we’re left with misery.

We learn there are lessons

in life that leave a sting.

We never can predict

what the years will bring.

WE ARE ALL CHILDREN

Searching for answers;

Hiding underneath our skin;

Dreaming of climbing mountains,

To see where we have been;

Asking others questions when

The answers are within;

Reaching for each other

With a child-like love;

Wanting to be  spirit,

And fly like doves.

We are all children

Wanting so much more,

From those around us

Who often ignore

The gifts we are giving

From the heart’s store.

Misunderstandings can

Hurt us to the quick

When they fail to see

What really makes us tick.

We are all children

Searching for a dream;

Trying to be grown-ups,

And wanting to scream:

“Stop all the lies.

Life’s not what it seems.

Where is the laughter?

Where is the fun?

Where’s my respect,

When it’s all said and done?”

We are all children

Who want to be,

Our authentic selves,

Not what you see.

What makes it so hard

To allow “US”  to be “ME?”

Within us all lies

The needs of our youth.

We’d be better off

In accepting  this truth.

Article and poetry by Yu/stan/kema., George Fletcher-photo., God's gifts to us., Google+ photo., pinterest picture quote, Special people in our lives.

In our lives, we meet people who are special to us. These are the ones who take the time to know us, listen to us, and give of themselves in invaluable ways to help us. They let us know they enjoy us. These special people bring us to a new level of growth spiritually and emotionally. They teach us very valuable lessons in life. They seek our good.

When we are around them, we feel the warmth of their caring, their acceptance of all we are. They have integrity and they tell us the truth, even when we’d rather not hear it. Their words and their presence calms us. and we find ourselves compelled to be our  best. Most of all, we feel a spiritual connection with them. We are lucky if we find three in our life time. They commit time, attention, and caring to us willingly, joyfully. We remember these people until the day we die and we know without a shadow of a doubt they will remember us. They are gifts from God, more precious and valuable than anything on earth. They make us feel cherished, and that makes all the difference in how we live and what we become. The following poem was written for these special people.

SPECIAL PEOPLE

Special people come into our lives

And produce in us thoughts and feelings

That enable us to become strong,

And we feel a sense of healing.

They take us places inside ourselves

And help our souls to grow.

They give us a different perspective

On what we think we know.

They teach us lessons to learn,

And make us believe we can do it.

They make us feel accepted inside

And they help us be congruent.

They enable us to see our flaws

And face our deepest fears.

They inspire us to do the hard work,

Give comfort when we have tears.

They enable us to touch our pain

And feel like we’re okay.

They stay in the center of our heart

Even when they are far away.

Later in life in looking back,

We come to realize,

They were God’s greatest gifts to us,

His wondrous love in disguise.
