Dear Reader:
My purpose in writing this blog is to share with you my Reflections on life and how the choices we make do affect our lives in significant ways. I too, like you, have moments filled with triumphs and defeat, joy and sorrow, blessings and overwhelming losses, and the struggles and rewards found in forming and maintaining relationships in navigating down the road of life. I will share with you lessons I’ve learned from the areas of psychology, religion, and philosophy. The best years of my life were spent working with people and helping them find solutions to problems in living. It was my great honor to watch them grow emotionally, spiritually, and socially in their relationships with others and find a new understanding and compassion for themselves as human beings worthy of respect and love.
I will do this through the use of articles, poetry, quotations, book reviews, and some times humor. This will be my gift to you: a place to come and reflect on life; a place to find someone else can relate to your pain, fears, and hopes;and a place to obtain information that may help and inspire you while walking down the pathway of life. I will sign this blog with the name I was given on a Spirit Walk at the age of fourteen: Yu/stan/kema. It means, ” She who stands in the face of the wind.” You will find nature is an important part of who I am. I leave you with this quotation that has special significance for me, written by Eckart Tulle: “Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.”
