Spring comes late this year.                                        

The daffodils and tulips pop out

Of the ground with such delight,

As I go on a walk-a-bout.

                                                                        

Crab apples are full of color,

White, pink, purple, and maroon.

blossoms tell us Spring is here.

They always leave too soon.

 

Forsythia branches downward

With flowers the color of gold.

They shimmer in direct sunlight.

It’s beauty never grows old.

 

Our excitement comes as we weather,                           

Cold snows on wintry days.

Flowering things overcome the darkness.

Our souls are set ablaze.
