Losing life-time friendships

Found on Pinterest on 3-18-16. beaches,
Donna Matthews.

Is always full of pain.

They take you down a road

That’s called Memory Lane.

You see your past youth

On every living page

In the book of friendship

As  you slowly age.

You touch days of laughter,

You quickly savor joy.

You treasure every moment

Spent with your little boy.

You share a moment of magic

With every creative expression.

You’ve learned to accept the loss

That comes with their cessation.

Found on Pinterest on 9-29-16. Castle Lakes R.V. Campsite at Lake City, Colo. Anita Lequoia Outdoor Living.

Values, beliefs, and religion

Bound us so tightly.

There wasn’t a moment in time

When we took this lightly.

So many things we learned

By spending time together.

We thought we would be friends

 For ever and for ever.

Yet, I am left with a loss,

That has left a huge hole,

In the middle of my chest,

And taken a part of my soul.

Lord of Love and glorious Light,

Found on Pinterest on 5-24-17. Bob Berran. godisreal.today.

Please stay with me through the night.

Help me face the morning bright

And give me strength to do what’s right.

When I’ve lost all hope inside,

And I choke on wounded pride,

I’ll soon accept what’s been denied:

Loss of friends and dreams that died.

Be with me as my heart weeps

LDS artists, Greg Olsen, Del Parson on Pinterest on 5-24-17. Life Reflection. edlann.hubpages.com article.

While the night-time slowly creeps.

Pull me from a hole that’s deep.

I pray today my soul You’ll keep.

Take my hand and lift me high,

So that I can touch the sky.

Hold me gently as I cry,

As I tell the world good-bye.

In the green forest, I walk,

Lost in a myriad of shades

 Of green and brown.

The leaves shimmer

In the rays of the sunlight.

Some of the trees

Stand tall in the

Shadows of the forest.

I stand transfixed

By the sound of silence.

I close my eyes

And smell the rich

Soil teaming with life.

I  carry within me

An ocean of sadness.

It ‘s pain pierces me,

And leaves me

Feeling defenseless.

I am burdened by shame

And feel  the old memories

Crawl to the surface

Of my consciousness.

I yearn to feel

Cool water against

My face and hair.

I pray for peace.

I gather my strength

And walk down

The old forest trail.

I hear the sound

Of  running water

Falling against

The surfaces of rocks.

I see ahead of me

A cascade of

Small waterfalls.

I slowly walk under

The cool water,

Feeling able to breathe again.

I can feel the gentle hands

Found on Pinterest on 10-23-16. Henry David Thoreau. Saved from Idnaturephotography.com.

Of the falling mist

Caress my troubled brow.

I can hear the rush

Of cascading water;

 Feel the wetness

Against my dry skin;

And hear the song

The dancing water

Makes, striking stone.

I feel my pain wash away,

And God’s peace

Descend on me.

For those who died to keep safe our freedoms.

REFLECTIONS OF A MINDFUL HEART AND SOUL

Who will remember

the dead,

long after their bodies

have been laid to rest?

Who will mourn for

all the young soldiers

who lost their lives

so we could be free?

Who will lay a flower

at the feet of a warrior

Who was loved and

cherished by all?

Who will speak

for the silent heroes

who sleep in a grave

across the sea?

Who will weep for

the mother who held

her child with

so much tenderness?

Or a father who taught

a boy to be

a  man full

of integrity.

Do not forget

these brave souls,

who left behind

A legacy

To carry it with you

Wherever you went.

I wish that I could gather,

A little group of birds,

To sing outside your window,

A song without words.

I wish that I could send

A slow drizzling rain,

So it could patter softly

Against your window pane.

Found on Pinterest on 5-13-17.

I wish I had great power

To make this all come true

For no one deserves it,

Any more than you.

I guess I have to settle

For just writing this all down,

Until the time comes when,

We both are heaven-bound.

There was a young owl

Found on Facebook Timeline. Nicole Froese. Canada Manitoba Winnipeg. Saved from Country and Farm Photography, on 5-11-17.

That lived in a tree,

And he was as fuzzy

As he could be.

His eyes were big,

And his beak was small.

His toes gripped a branch

On a tree that was tall.

He could see from a distance

From his high perch,

That supper was coming

In a ground search.

He loved the moon

And the beautiful night.

He could find his way home

With the glow of starlight.

So he sat in the tree

And twisted his head,

Found on Pinterest on 5-13-17. Darrel Gulin Photography.

To let the owls know

He was about to be fed.

With one fell swoop,

He snatched his prey

And swallowed him whole,

In his unique way.

He preened his soft feathers

As he stuck out his chest.

Loudly he hooted,

“This hunter’s the best!”

I sat outside near sundown

Found on Facebook Timeline on 7-15-16. Taken by Jim Tanselle.

And watched the twilight fall,

Until the cloak of darkness

Came and covered it all:

The red and pink of the roses,

The shimmering green of a tree,

Were all but gone in an instant.

There was nothing left to see.

I closed my eyes in the darkness,

And the sounds intensified.

I was one with my surroundings.

My senses opened wide.

The birds were twittering softly

And settling in for the night.

The mournful cry of a dove

Made everything seem right.

Found on Google on 8-10-15. bird-and-nature-lovers-photos. Haleem.

The smell of the Honeysuckle,

Filled me with infinite pleasure.

The scent of Iris and Roses,

Was a part of Nature’s treasure.

Songs of the frogs and the locusts,

Took my sadness away,

As I rested in peaceful slumber

Until the coming of the day.

Differences we see., disrespect and despair., Pinterest photo-Sarah., Pinterest photo.-Yongsung Kim., poetry by Yu/stan/kema, Reaching out to others., Time, value differences

I can sense it in the air.

It reeks with despair.

This chaos follows us

Found on Pinterest on 6-4-16. Sarah.

And holds such brokenness.

Every time it comes by,

We cringe and we sigh.

It’s hard not to miss

Past years of peaceful bliss:

When facts were the truth

And they provided proof

When others told a lie.

Brave men made an out cry.

When a man would break a law,

Good men told what they saw.

But our lives have changed with time,

And politicians commit crimes.

Found on Pinterest on 3-21-16. Yongsung Kim.

Men in government positions

Seem to get away with treason.

It is painful to live

When others hate to give

To those in need of care,

And they work to be unfair.

These men are often rich

And kick others in a ditch.

We need to all go back

When respect’s not what we lack,

And we reach out to each other,

As we would a long-lost brother.

It takes a little heartbreak

On a daily basis to

Become a huge mountain

Of grief to work through.

It only takes suspicion,

Raising its ugly head,

To cast doubt in a soul

That is daily fed.

It takes a lot of neglect

To kill a loving heart,

That only seeks to please you,

While you tear a soul apart.

If you commit to saying

A kind word every day

And reassure your loved ones

That you are here to stay;

If you treasure lots of moments

You spend with one another

And gladly try to help

Each other like a brother;

If you give someone attention

And a little of your time,

Let someone know you love him

And tell him he is prime;

You will give love, not heartbreak,

And build a lasting trust.

Commitment is essential,

And respect is a must.

Can be heard a lonely whisper,

“I am desperate for light.”

Drifting through miles of darkness,

Blind to obstacles nearby,

I still keep on my journey,

Even though I don’t know why.

I still want to be most helpful,

And  plant a tiny, little seed

In the heart of another,

And be there in time of need.

I would like to create beauty

And watch it grow across the land.

Found on Pinterest on 2-9-16. helping hands. Dalai Lama.

I’m hoping to inspire goodness

By reaching out a helping hand.

Sometimes my soul needs renewal,

When I’m feeling dark despair.

All it takes is one kind word,

To spread God’s love every where.
