When winter comes and

Trees snap with ice,

I know the warmth of                  

Fire will suffice,

In bringing comfort

To my tired heart,

When broken dreams

Cause tears to start.

 

Snow falls upon

The frozen ground,

And does so without

A single sound.

It’s simple things that

Mean so much:

A kind word and

A gentle touch.

 

These priceless gifts

Bring us near,

To the heart of God,

Without fear.
