I am torn between 

The urge to protect 

What I love and respect,            

And the need to find

Beauty and peace                                

While living in

A troubled world.

Things are not

As they seem.

In my mind,

I try to reconcile

What is duty,

With what has

Unfurled.

Is it a

Bad dream?

Have I forgot

What really is

Worth while?

Bogged down

By a world of sin,

I suddenly see

That real peace

Begins with me.
