I am falling into darkness,

Crossing a valley of despair.  

On the road that I have taken,

Broken dreams lie everywhere.

My fragile body takes a beating

As I try to find the sea. 

I have lived with this  sorrow.

I’m as lost as I can be.

I cannot find direction,

To the shores of tranquility.

So I  walk through the canyons,

Climb the mountains to the sky.

I look around for beauty,

To touch a piece of paradise.

At sundown, I am looking

To the East and to the West. 

I am searching for the lighthouse,    

Whose light beckons all to rest.

I will step into the water and

Wash all  my cares away.

I will ask God for  comfort,

And peace to fill my day.
