“Who is my brother?”                                             

I spoke to a crowd of people.

No one had an answer,

So I climbed the highest steeple.

 

I knelt and faced the East.

Then I knelt to the West.

I sat upon the roof,

And I took a little rest.

 

I breathed in and out

And watched my belly rise.

I held my breath some counts,

And I also closed my eyes.

 

I focused deep within,

And I tried to hear

That soft, quiet voice.

Wise Mind spoke clear:

 

“Your brother is your neighbor,                         

And any one in need.

It doesn’t really matter,

One’s color or creed.”

 

“Show compassion for Self,

And caring for all others.

The animals,and nature,

For God  made us brothers.”
