OUR LIVES HAVE VALUE.

“The following poem reminds me that each of us has value to someone else ” as a stumbling block or a stepping-stone.” Our influence on other people is so great, yet we stand in denial how, one hour with one person can change the course of a life, forever.

In my life, I have learned lessons from people who hurt me as well as from those who have helped me. Those who gave me comfort, helped shore up my resources, and gave me the strength to continue on. There have been role models, teachers, and friends who have loved me, and who have given me hope in the midst of darkness. I am grateful for them. There have been people who have held me back, but those have been few. I am  aware that what I do has consequences, for others and for myself.”

A BAG OF TOOLS.

Isn’t it strange                                      

                             

That princes and kings,

And clowns that caper

In sawdust rings,

And common people

Like you and me

Are builders for eternity?

 

Each is given a bag of tools,

A shapeless mass,

A book of rules;

And each must make                   

Ere, life is flown

A stumbling block

Or a stepping-stone.
