Some of the things we’ve done

Are better left unsaid, not sung.

Craving darkness and the light,

We are torn by the night;

Wanting light to light our way;

Needing darkness when we stray

From the things we know are right,

As we hide from God’s sight.

 

 

Still, an emptiness inside

Hates the things we do for pride.    

We are happiest in life

When we keep away from strife.

All the good that we can do,

Helps our souls grow anew.

When we seek our highest self.

We find within our greatest wealth.
