” This poem was written as the last poem was written, A Question In The Night, when I was nineteen years old. At that time of life, we feel things so intensely and are so idealistic. We believe love is all. As we grow older, we come to see love is sometimes filled with realities we must accept. We find pain often accompanies joy in loving another.”

FROM MY HEART.

You laugh at me when I try to express

The very nature of my happiness.

You cannot realize the love inside

My soul, I can no longer hide.

For true love sings the sweetest song;

Stays in the mind the whole day long.

You laugh because the song within my heart

Is sweetest when I’m gone, when we’re apart.

And Yet you seem to always comprehend

That though my feeling’s new, it has no end.

You laugh because the child’s in me to stay.

Within, I love you not the same old way.

You need to stop and realize that I

Am happy and no longer cry.

I see us walking in the forest still.

Hand in hand, we climb the grassy hill.

My heart is yearning so to share.

I send my love to you in prayer,

A loving prayer for you  alone.

My heart wants you to come back home.

Please understand that you

Have me seeing dreams come true.

You have helped me come to realize

That such love grows. It never really dies.

So, I laugh and tremble from the love

That flows from me to you,  and God above.

I offer you, all my heart can hold,

A love that never will grow old,

A love that speaks and dares to live,

A love that really wants to give.

You laugh when I try to express

The very nature of my happiness.
