BEING ME

Freedom comes with a price

As every one  knows.

The freedom “to be,” does too,

Like a thorn is part of a rose.

When love is found inside  you,

You are likely to find some hate.

It’s a piece of yourself, like it or not.

It’s  part of humanity’s fate.

If You try to be perfect

And make no mistakes;

Give smiles to the world,

Even when your heart aches,

You’ll find the failure of being yourself  

Is the greatest loss of all:

You lose your sense of identity

And build inside a wall,

That keeps love and others out.

You end up neglecting yourself

If you believe you’re better off

By not sharing your God-given wealth.
