There once lived two sisters

Who had known and lived through

The worst kind of pain,

Untold terror, and shame.

Their lives had been shattered by fears

They could not explain or name,

And dreams that left them screaming

In an effort to remain sane.

One stayed in the prison of her mind

And refused to even let

Someone in to help her forget:

Broken glass, spilled blood,

And fear that spread like a net

Over her struggling head.

Her eyes remained wet.

The other reached out and                  

Found you waiting there

As she fell through empty air.

Your strong hands grabbed her

As she fell… God knows where.

She found someone who did care.

You came and  enabled her to see

She could struggle and fight to save

Her sanity, and one day, be free.

There once lived two sisters

Who had shared the same destiny,

But you came and helped one

Become all she could be,

And find a way to inner harmony.
