THE GIVER
On the day you were born,
Whales danced in the sea.

Birds took to the heavens.
God smiled down on me.
He knew you were coming
To give me a gift,
To mend my heart, broken
And heal a huge rift.
In His infinite wisdom,
He knew of the wealth
That lay deep inside you
Just being “your self.”
He must have cared greatly
To send me to you.
You are so like Him
In all that you do.
I’m taking this moment
So that you’ll see,
The “thank you” is real
That’s coming from me.
