Glad that I live am I;

That the sky is blue;

Glad for the country lanes,

And the fall of dew.

 

After the sun the rain,

After the rain the sun;

This is the way of life,

“Till the work be done.

 

All that we need to do,

Be we low or high,

Is to see that we grow

Nearer the sky.

ME

As long as I live

I shall always be

My Self and no other,

Like a willow or elder,

An aspen, a thorn,

Or a cypress forlorn.

Like a flower,

For its hour

A primrose, a pink,

Or a violet

Soul, in the universe,

Where do you go

To answer questions

That bother you so?

 

Why do men kill

And why do they maim

Without any reason,

Never accept blame,

 

For  things done in darkness

And all through the night?

They lie, steal, and cheat,

And avoid doing right.

 

Why do men lower

Themselves to betray

The ones that love them

And throw trust away?

Why do men say

Insults and cruel things

To those who are different

And cause hearts to sting.

 

So many men

End up being bad.

Why focus on things

That make the heart sad?

 

Some men give

Straight from the heart,

And make others glad

Right from the start.

 

Others use words

To bring about peace

And cause evil

To greatly decrease.

 

On this huge earth

It is equally true,

God’s son died

To save me and you.

 

Evil and goodness

Are found side by side.

Evil because of envy and pride,

And goodness where God’s love abides.

When despair for the world grows in me

And I wake in the night at the least sound

In fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,

I go and lie down where the wood drake

Rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.

I saw a child skipping down the street.

Her hair was dark like a raven’s wing.

Her eyes were blue as the summer sky,

Her face was  sweet and I heard her sing.

 

She caught my eye as she passed by.

Her face was filled with a holy light.

I heard her laugh as she softly sang

The words she said with such delight:

 

“I’m a lucky child who is loved by God.

He expects me to give to others here.

It doesn’t matter if I’m not loved back.

God’s by my side and He is near.”

 

“My part is to do His gracious will,

To give His love to all in need,

To mirror His grace for all to see:

God is Love. This is my Creed.”

The Lord God planted a garden

In the first white days of the world,

And he set there an angel  warden

In a garment of light enfurled.

 

So near to the peace of Heaven,

That the hawk might nest with the wren,

For there in the cool of the evening

God walked with the first of men.

 

The kiss of the sun for pardon,

The song of the birds for mirth

One is nearest God’s heart in a garden

Than anywhere else on earth.

Fairness

Every child deserves

Tender loving care,

No matter the age,

And others to be fair.

 

Children often need

To be listened to,

To be given feedback

Regardless what they do.

 

Every child craves

Time to heal and grow,

Acceptance within,

More than others know.

 

Children always hope

For others to be kind,

To overlook mistakes,

Made by the mind.

 

Every child cries

When feelings are hurt.

A child will turn away

If others are curt.

 

Every one knows

Love grows best

When trust resides

In a child’s breast.

 

Every one believes

A child  can stand,

If someone steps up

To give a helping hand.

List Of Things I Am Thankful For In 2015.

  • I am thankful for my infusion team at the Infusion Center. They always make the place a little brighter  by putting up decorations. When they know it’s not a good day, they do thoughtful things to help you.
  • I am thankful for my son and his partner. They are kind to me and give me things to look forward to. I enjoy my time with them. They are very caring towards me, and I love them both.
  • I am thankful for my best friend who is dear to my heart. I have known her for more than 30 years. We are able to communicate well, and she’s the one I play hooky from the world with. We love movies and eating out. We laugh and have a lot of fun, We also have interesting conversations and enjoy nature together.
  • I am thankful for the therapist who is working with me toward acceptance of my illness. She is positive and affirming. She is kind and caring, and she is also able to help me in spiritual matters. She believes in me as a person and is respectful of me.
  • I am thankful for the friends I have gotten to know better this year, and for my nephews and nieces I am getting to know and understand better.
  • I am thankful for my faith and for a God who is patient and forgiving with my weaknesses.
  • I am thankful for my dogs which give me lots of love and laughter and put up with my songs when I sing for them.
  • I am thankful for books, poetry, art, photography, and quotations that I have access too. They give me both serenity and inspiration.
  • I am thankful for the chance to blog and share myself with others and for the opportunity to help others. I have enjoyed getting to know fellow bloggers.
  • I am thankful for the food I have, my house,  and Social Security. It was there when I needed it. I am thankful for Medicare which helps with treatment.
  • I am thankful for life which God gives to me and a purpose for being here.

CHILDREN OF COLOR

Children of color,

When will we learn

To embrace your differences

And give you your turn.

All that you want

Is the world to be fair, 

Others to respect you,

And belong some where.

You are willing to work,

To do what it takes

To accomplish great things

And accept the mistakes

That come as a result of

Trying your best

Despite the name calling

And all the rest:

Others pretending

You aren’t even there,

Or giving a frown

And a demeaning stare;

Others refusing to

Give you a chance

And trying to destroy

Your pride with a glance.

Why can’t we see,

Our own little one

Wanting respect

By the time it’s all done.

Instead, we ignore,

Distrust, and we say

The things to prove

You are “just that way.”

If things are to change,

We must all do our part

To accept people of

 Color Into our heart.

       GIVING GOD THANKS

 

 

 

 

The Lord’s Prayer

OUR FATHER– Thank you God for letting us be Your children and allowing us to call You, Abba, Father.

WHO ART IN HEAVEN– Thank You God for preparing a home for us, a resting place.

HALLOWED BE THY NAME. –Thank You for showing us how to become holy in Your sight.

THY KINGDOM COME– Thank You God for giving us a way to come back to You and something to look forward to.

THY WILL BE DONE– Thank You God for watching over us and providing us with direction to live a blessed life.

ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.- Help us realize, You know what is best for us, for You know all things in heaven and on earth.

GIVE US THIS DAY– Thank you for giving us another twenty-four hours to live.

OUR DAILY BREAD–Thank you for the food You have provided for us.

AND FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES– Thank You for still loving us when we make mistakes and stray away from you. You are willing to overlook our weaknesses and focus on our strengths.

AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US.– Thank You for sending us a role model for us to emulate. Thank You for believing in our ability to give Love.

AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION– Help protect us from the things that can hurt us and others.

BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL.-Thank You for caring about our souls and protecting us.

FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM– We recognize You are in charge and give us all things we need.

THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER– Thank You for allowing us to worship You.

AMEN.
